Hello, all! This may seem like a weird question, but here goes.
I'm guessing many of you have heard of pet psychics before. You know, same concept as a human psychic, only they claim they can communicate with animals. What do you all think of that? Do you think it's a bunch of crap, or that it's something that people can really do?
I ask because I've been browsing the site:
www.petperceptions.com
I'm intrigued now. BTW, I don't know how to make that link clickable, so that's why I just wrote it out. I'm curious to see what your opinions are.
Sister Dawn, I'm honestly not sure how I feel about the subject, because I'm not entirely sure how I feel about psychics in general. I don't dismiss the posibility, however. If humans are capable of thought and the ability to pick up on vibrations from one another, and if we believe (as I very strongly do) that animals are also capable of thought and empathy, it follows that the possibility must exist. I guess part of it is my own feeling of discomfort that someone could use this ability against another being. Don't ask me what I mean by all this babling, 'cause I'm not awake yet, and am not sure myself.
Lou
I dont believe it because like so many facets of the psychic world it has been exploited by the charlatans and liars, it's become an industry praying on the weak and needy, and like so much of this
it began in america as a money making scheme.
Well I don't know if it's real, but when the pet psychic used to come on animal planet, my mom's cat, everyday, would stop whatever she was doing, and sit on the chair and watch the entire show.

I believe you Dawn! When I was little my Mom wrote that lady Jean Dixon! I wish someone could tell me what Daisy my new dog was thinking! I know she was abused by her former owner! I only know this caus the vet found signs of abuse! This vet has treated Emma my guinea pig! I was horrified to learn this about Daisy! Your friend, Hope
In my opinion petts are all psychic. They all seem to know what's wrong and if something's going to happen.
I've observed the pet psychics on different tv and radio programs, and what strikes me, is how they ask general questions: is your cat sick? She loves your attention. Do you gush over her? (etc) (etc). I am not saying it can't be done, that another person couldn't communicate with your pet, but Babes communicates with me in various ways. I believe that when one has a bond with an animal, they don't need a psychic. Just a thought.
I've taken my dog guide to a few sessions with an animal comunicator. She has asked my dog Ellie very direct spiccific questions and gotten answers. She has helped through some tough spots as a team. Of course not everyone who says they can comunicate with animals can, but I do believe some have that special gift.
hmmm interesting question Sister.. I dont know about pet psychic like the ones that are shown on TV, but I do know that there are people with certain affinities with animals that seem to understand them better. Myself for one.. Not all animals but some. I cant say they are thinking oh my foot hurts, or i am sad because the cat died.. But i have felt my animals talk to me.. Basic simple things.. Like ok.. it is time for you to go to bed mommy.. LOL My dog is always asking me to tell daddy to take him outside.. I almost hear him. He will tell me that he is bored, he will tell me he wants to go see my son, he will tell me when he is worried.. I hope this does not sound weird. I pick up things like this from animals I do not even know.. But like I said not all animals.. I have had conversations with horses..LOL.. but not in the sense like the pet psychics.. I know when an animal has been abused even if there is not much sign of it. I can tell when an animal is sick and sometimes even what is making it sick... I hope this does not make people think I am some weirdo freak or psycho nut. LOL
Hi, all. Wow, I'd practically forgotten I started this thread. Grin.
No, Tonja, you don't sound a bit weird. I pick up things from animals, too. I worked with a pet psychic once. She actually seemed to know what she was talking about, giving me a lot of accurate information without having to ask many questions at all. She deliberately doesn't ask questions, so that her information won't be distorted by something she already knows. Pretty interesting stuff. I pick up things from animals sometimes, too. I think some animals are also more communicative, and some more shy, just as humans are. Some humans wear their emotions on their sleve, some do not. Maybe it goes the same with animals, too.
I'm not a pet psychic or anything like that, but animals seem drawn to me. Even out on the street, random animals will just come up to me. And animals seem very comfortable with me from the get go. I was leaning into the back of a car once, to get something, and there was a pet dog that had gotten out of her house a few blocks away. Well she crossed the street and walked right up to me and licked my leg once and sat down to wait for me to pay attention to her. lol

You know, I always wished animals could talk and tell you how they feel. Lol. That probably sounds really stupid, but I sometimes wonder with this cat that I love at our humane society, if it wants to come home with me or if it's just lonely. I mean it won't let me put it back in it's cage when I have to leave and looks miserable when I tell him I have to go. I wonder sometimes if he loves me as much as I love him even though I don't think I could adopt him. I'd love to though, it would cause too much fighting here. Anyway, talking animals would be cool, or even meeting a pet psychic would be cool because I didn't know of them until now. So this is an interesting topic.
I believe in what mediums do and went to see Derek Acorah in November last year, but unfortunately didn't get a message or a reading, Oh well, there's always another time. Anyway, I have read on the internet somewhere that there is someone who can tell how animals are feeling and on TV sometime, there was a healer who knew what was wrong with an animal that a hotel owner had and she'd never even met the animal before. I don't know what the animal was, because they didn't say and I couldn't see it.
I agree with Goblin.
I think animals are psychic or at least can sence our immotions especially like dogs and cats and I also believe that there are people that are animal psychics, but I have not had the chance to meet with one.
Agree with the last post.
Wow, I was really surprised when I saw this topic come back up. I had originally started it because I had read about a pet psychic named Lisa Greene, and liked the look of her site. I had wanted to know about my cat Shadow, and his life before he came to me. There were behaviors he had exhibited that I didn't know the roots of.
I did actually have one session with this Lisa. She was very friendly, but it's not something I'd do again. Some details she knew, but I got the feeling that it was only by dint of knowing general cat behavior patterns, and guesswork. Some details she was completely off on, and it was clear she had no idea what she was talking about.
So, I went into it with a slightly skeptical but very curious mind, and I think the skeptic won out. But as I've researched more and talked to more people, I find I'm more skeptical of psychics in general, not just pet ones.
I've often wished animals could tell you if they are happy/sad, and what they need or want. If they were hurting, or if something else was wrong, but I suppose animals talk if we really listen.
